TransliterationNot yet documented
The Advanced Rubber Guard covers the deeper positional sequences beyond Mission Control in Eddie Bravo's Rubber Guard system — including the Chill Dog, New York, Meathook, Zombie, and Dead Orchid positions that create pathways to omoplata, gogoplata, and triangle submissions. [1] These advanced positions require greater hip flexibility than the basic Rubber Guard and create offensive angles that are inaccessible from traditional closed guard. [1],[2]
Developed within the modern BJJ competition framework. [1]
Used in IBJJF, ADCC, and/or EBI competition. [1]

The invisible collar is an advanced rubber guard control position providing 'the ultimate control from guard,' reached by progressing through Mission Control and New York. [1] The guard player underhooks their own shin and knee on the same side while controlling the opponent's posture, setting up the Ninja Choke and other advanced submissions from the rubber guard system. [2]
Muddy Waters is an advanced rubber guard high-guard position designed for striking (elbows) and armbar setups. [1] Eddie Bravo describes it as 'the absolute best way to set up an armbar from the guard' and 'the best guard position to unload elbows.' Specifically designed for MMA Combat Jiu-Jitsu where strikes from guard are permitted. [2]
New Jersey is a rubber guard position similar to New York but with a key grip difference — the foot is inside (behind the opponent's head) but without overhooking the opponent's arm. [1] In New York, you overhook the arm and have their hand 'zombied' to the mat. The trapped butterfly hook in New Jersey helps keep the guard player on their side, and it can lead to the gogo clinch. [2]
The advanced rubber guard positions — Mission Control, Chill Dog, Kung Fu Move, New York, Jiu Claw — form the deep control system of Eddie Bravo's 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. Each position progressively breaks the opponent's posture and sets up submissions from bottom guard. (Bravo, Mastering the Rubber Guard, 2006)
You can place your right foot on your opponent's hip to minimize stacking and crushing pressure, or cross your feet up over their body to prevent them from backing out.
Grab your toes and pull them to the inside very hard—this transition is very difficult for your opponent to block.
If you hold on and slow down their roll, not only will their momentum be reduced, but they will pick you up, allowing you to advance your position.
