ダブル・ドロップ・バック・キック(Daburu Doroppu Bakku Kikku)
Translation: Double drop back kick
The Double Drop Back Kick delivers two back kicks in rapid succession while dropping to the ground, alternating legs for a devastating two-strike combination. [1] The momentum from the first kick's recoil helps chamber the second, creating a rapid-fire sequence from ground level. [1]
Offers specific tactical advantages over the standard back kick in appropriate situations. [1]
Cross-style martial arts kicking tradition; documented in kick compendiums. [1]
An acrobatic kick variation primarily seen in demonstrations and point-fighting tournaments. Not practical in full-contact competition due to the ground recovery time required. [1]

Requires solid back kick foundation
Good balance and coordination
Documented in De Bremaeker & Faige, Section 4.12. Two back kicks delivered in rapid succession from a dropping position — an advanced combination requiring exceptional balance and coordination. (De Bremaeker & Faige, Essential Book of Martial Arts Kicks, 2010)
The first kick should generate momentum as a light touch-up rather than full power—you don't want to knock your target out of range for the finishing back kick. Close Quarters Combat Academy emphasizes keeping it controlled so you can smoothly transition into the real finisher.
Position the first kick a little ways away from your target and offset rather than directly in line, as this helps set up your rotation without disrupting it. Avoid kicking too high or too low, as either will ruin your rotation for the second kick.
Turning your head helps initiate natural body rotation—if you keep looking forward, you'll find it hard to rotate and land your kick cleanly. Let your body move naturally as you turn to set up the finishing back kick.
You don't need kicks at exactly 100 degrees or completely erect—being comfortable at around 90 degrees is sufficient. Master the basic mechanics first, then you can combine them together.
