Inao taeng krit is a traditional Muay Thai mae mai technique — named after a character in Thai classical literature. The traditional mae mai preserve the cultural heritage of Muay Boran within modern Muay Thai. (Kraitus, Muay Thai: The Art of Fighting)
Inao Taeng Krit (Inao Thrusts His Dagger) uses a close-range upward elbow thrust to the chin, mimicking a dagger thrust. Named after the Thai literary hero Inao, this technique targets the exposed chin from below.
Inao Taeng Krit is one of the 15 Mae Mai (Master Tricks) of Muay Thai, preserved from the traditional Muay Boran curriculum. The Mae Mai represent the highest-level tactical principles of Thai boxing, each named after Thai mythology, literature, or cultural references.
