The Invisible Croc Submission is an arm-bar attack executed from the rubber guard system, a 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu framework emphasizing leg-based control and positional breakdown. Both JiuJitsuMania (Eddie Bravo) and Submissions101 establish that the technique requires a methodical progression: first achieving Mission Control (wrist-to-ankle grip with foot on hip), then trapping the opponent's arm on the mat via the Zombie movement—a popping action that forces the hand down and immobilizes it. From this trapped-arm position, the attacker clears the opponent's neck using leg pressure to establish the Invisible Collar, a positional anchor where the opponent's posture is completely broken and their trapped arm cannot defend. JiuJitsuMania emphasizes that once in Invisible Collar with the arm trapped on the mat, the attacker grabs their own foot, places it over the opponent's face, under-scoops the opponent's wrist with both hands, pulls their own leg free, then shifts hips to execute the arm bar. Submissions101 focuses more on the foundational positions (Mission Control, Zombie, New York, Chill Dog) that lead toward such attacks. Both instructors agree that arm trapping on the mat is essential—it prevents the opponent from using that hand defensively or offensively—and that maintaining squeeze and pressure throughout the sequence is critical for successful submission.

The Invisible Croc is a 10th Planet submission documented in Mastering the Rubber Guard. An advanced submission from the Crocodile position. (Bravo, Mastering the Rubber Guard, 2006)
The invisible collar is achieved by clearing your opponent's neck and getting to a specific angle where their neck is pressed against your leg, breaking their posture completely. Eddie Bravo emphasizes this is generally the first goal in rubber guard because it puts your opponent in a very awkward position with zero posture—they can't pull up, can't stack you, and you have many attacking options from there.
When in the New York position, squeeze the knee tightly and keep constant pressure on the leg. Make a fist-like grip from wrist to ankle, which is described as very important for maintaining control in this transitional position between other rubber guard movements.
The most important thing is to keep your opponent's posture broken, especially when they're trying to punch. Once you have mission control established, you can use your legs to help control posture while keeping a free arm ready to attack.
