The Long D'Arce is the full-depth D'Arce choke from the front headlock where the choking arm threads deeply under the opponent's armpit and around the neck, with the hand reaching to clasp the bicep of the other arm in the standard figure-four configuration. [1] The long D'Arce provides the tightest choke because the deeper thread creates more compression surface area around the neck. [1],[2]
Developed within the BJJ/grappling submission system. [1]
Used in BJJ, MMA, and submission grappling competition. [1]

forearms (squeeze), biceps (compression), shoulders (positioning)
You need to compress both sides of your opponent's neck rather than yanking or cranking. Keep your shoulder above their neck, maintain control under the chin, and focus on cutting off oxygen by squeezing both sides simultaneously.
Drop to the side while controlling your opponent's chin and tricep to prevent them from posturing up. Keep your thumb above their neck so the blade of your forearm cuts off the carotid artery on the far side, then walk your arm up and connect to your bicep.
If they pull their tricep in to block your knee entry, you have a perfect setup for a guillotine choke instead. Pop your hand through, grab the back of the palm, and finish with a straight guillotine from the top.
The D'Arce and arm-triangle guillotine combo allows you to keep your opponent locked in position the entire time, giving you multiple submission options if they defend one attack.

Стандартная цепочка подготовки: Establish Control Position → Secure the Specific Grip → Position the Choking Surface → Apply Compression → Finish.
Стандартные контрприёмы: Hand fighting — stripping the grip before the choke is set / Chin tuck — protecting the throat / Posture — creating distance to prevent the choke / Turning — turning to face the attacker.
Распространённые варианты: This is a specific variation (see parent genus/species for alternative variations).
Used in BJJ, MMA, and submission grappling competition.
Основные ошибки, на которые стоит обратить внимание: Applying too fast — gradual application is safer and often more effective / Wrong grip positioning — the specific grip variation defines this technique; incorrect grip = different technique / Not controlling posture before applying / Holding after the tap — release immediately.
