Перевод: technical standup X-guard
The Technical Standup X-Guard sweep completes the sweep by using the X-guard hooks to elevate the opponent's leg while performing a technical standup to rise underneath them, taking them off their feet entirely. [1] The guard player uses the X-hooks to lift the opponent's leg high, then performs a technical standup (hand behind, stand up) while maintaining the leg elevation, which sweeps the opponent onto their back. [1],[2] The technical standup finish is particularly effective because it results in the sweeper standing in a dominant position over the downed opponent. [2],[3]
The technical standup from X-guard stands up while maintaining X-guard control, finishing with a sweep or takedown. [1]
Developed as part of the X-guard system in competitive BJJ. [1]

Stuart Tomlinson emphasizes that people often lie too much on their side, which causes the leg to come over the head, or they rush the standup and allow their opponent to run their knee out and scramble free. The key is maintaining proper positioning throughout.
You must control above the kneecap, not below it. Stuart Tomlinson stresses that controlling too low allows the knee to slide out, especially against wrestlers or good scramblers. You can make a hook grip on the pants, but the most important detail is gripping above the knee.
Keep your hips facing straight up to the sky and pull the opponent's knee right on top of your shoulder as you stand. This makes it impossible for them to pull their knee out. Stuart Tomlinson also recommends keeping your head high to avoid getting triangled.
When your opponent's hands are far away, all their weight shifts over, which makes the leg you're controlling very light and easier to stand up with. This is the ideal time to execute the technical standup.

The technical standup from X-guard was developed as part of the X-guard system by Marcelo Garcia, combining the X-guard's sweeping power with wrestling's technical standup for a complete standing sweep. It is one of the two primary X-guard sweep finishes alongside the ankle pick.

Стандартная цепочка подготовки: Create Space → Disrupt Control → Execute Escape → Recover Position.
Стандартные контрприёмы: Maintain Pressure — keep consistent weight distribution to limit escape space / Anticipate Direction — read escape attempt direction and block early / Transition — flow to a new position when the current one is threatened.
Распространённые варианты: Standard sweep (primary off-balancing and reversal technique from the guard); Combination sweep (chaining two sweep directions to catch the opponent's adj…); Counter sweep (sweeping as the opponent initiates a guard pass attempt); Competition sweep (optimised for point-scoring in tournament settings).
Used in BJJ competition.
Основные ошибки, на которые стоит обратить внимание: Sweeping and then pausing before standing — the sweep and standup must flow together / Not posting the hand for the technical standup — the post provides the stability to rise / Standing up without awareness of the opponent's guard — they may immediately pull you back into guard / Rising too slowly — the speed of the standup determines whether you establish top position or get pulled down.
