Route to Turtle Rock

The player begins at Dampay's shack and heads left, moving boulders to access the tall heights area. After climbing a ladder and navigating through a familiar cave passage, the player emerges and continues right toward a hen house and broken bridge.

Rescuing Maren

Upon reaching the broken bridge, Maren is found trapped by monsters. The player uses a hookshot to cross a gap, then slingshots from an elevated position to grab Maren and complete the rescue. After Maren confesses her feelings, Taerin arrives and they both depart to the village.

Cave Navigation and Obstacles

The owl instructs the player to head west for the next instrument. A blocked staircase must be cleared before descending through the cave system. The player can either navigate down additional staircases or use a hookshot to cross a gap and reach the exit.

Narrow Pathway and Enemies

Exiting the cave leads to a narrow pathway where mini moldorms must be defeated while avoiding falling boulders. A purple rupee worth 50 rupees can be found in a chest at the top. The player then crosses a bridge and jumps a gap to access a smaller section with a heart piece.

Mirror Shield Requirement

Entry into the next cave is blocked by flames that can only be passed using the mirror shield acquired from Eagle Tower. Successfully traversing these flames allows access to the staircase leading to the area directly before Turtle Rock.

Waypoint and Turtle Rock Entrance

A rock near the Turtle Rock entrance contains a free waypoint when lifted. The player can dig between rocks with a shovel to find a sea shell. The actual cave entrance is accessed by equipping the ocarina and playing the frog song of souls to awaken the turtle.

Turtle Boss Fight

Before entering the cave, the player must defeat the turtle guardian in combat. The strategy involves allowing the turtle to charge and hit the wall, then placing bombs near its head to destroy protective rocks. Once the head is exposed, the player attacks it repeatedly with a sword until defeat.

Boss Reward

Upon defeating the turtle, a fairy drops as a reward. Players with an empty fairy bottle should capture it, as the dungeon ahead contains multiple challenging encounters that may require the healing benefit of a reviving fairy.
