Overview
The Americas produced the modern MMA movement — combining all martial arts into a unified competitive framework. MMA emerged from Brazilian Vale Tudo and the UFC (1993). Jeet Kune Do, Bruce Lee's philosophy of 'absorb what is useful,' foreshadowed MMA by decades. MCMAP is the US Marine Corps hybrid combat system.
